Al Mujtaba Ahmed (Omdurmán, 1994) trabajó en una agencia de comunicación hasta que la guerra en Sudán le convirtió en fotógrafo. Desde entonces no ha dejado su Omdurmán natal, ciudad al otro lado del Nilo, al oeste de Jartum, sitiada y rodeada desde el inicio de la ofensiva por parte de las Fuerzas de Apoyo Rápido, y constantemente atacada. Fue herido de bala en una de las protestas pacíficas que tuvieron lugar durante la revolución de 2019, y el reposo al que se vio forzado durante largos meses le proporcionó la capacidad de observar y de acercarse a la realidad de otra forma. Recoge los relatos de las personas a las que inmortaliza y nos muestra imágenes violentas, pero cargada de color, vida, fuerza y esperanza.

Al Mujtaba Ahmed (Omdurman, 1994) worked at a communications agency until the war in Sudan turned him into a photographer. Since then, he hasn’t left his native Omdurman, a city on the other side of the Nile, west of Khartoum, besieged and surrounded since the start of the offensive by the Rapid Support Forces, and constantly under attack. He was shot during one of the peaceful protests that took place during the 2019 revolution, and the rest he was forced to take for many months gave him the ability to observe and approach reality in a different way. He collects the stories of the people he immortalizes and shows us violent images, but full of color, life, strength, and hope.
