Shaima Merghani (1997) es una doctora y artista nacida en Arabia Saudí que vive actualmente en Omdurmán. Le apasiona la fotografía desde que iba al instituto, momento de su vida en el que capturaba la belleza de lo ordinario en las calles. Cuando la guerra estalló en abril de 2023 su perspectiva artística cambió. Ahora su fotografía funciona como un reflejo de sus pensamientos, ideas, esperanzas y sueños. A través de sus imágenes pretende evocar la memoria de las emociones y una conexión con la misma.

Shaima Merghani (1997) is a Sudanese doctor and artist born in Saudi Arabia currently living in Omdurman. She has been passionate about photography since high school, capturing the beauty of the ordinary on the streets. When war broke out in April 2023, her artistic perspective shifted. Now, her photography serves as a reflection of her thoughts, ideas, hopes, and dreams. Through her images, she seeks to evoke the memory of emotions and a connection to them.
One of her photographs from the Holding Onto Dreams series was featured at Decagon Gallery in a temporary exhibition as “Photo of the Month.” Her work has also been featured in Tombe Magazine and HUB Sudan.
